From “Whenever I Thought About It” to a Plan: How Amanda Matilda Photography Keeps Marketing Even in Busy Season

Amanda of Amanda Matilda Photography, a Western Colorado wedding, elopement and couples photographer, stays consistent with her marketing during busy season by doing the planning in her slow season. Last winter she mapped out her whole year in Enji based on where her couples are in the booking process, repurposed her existing blog posts into social media content with Enji’s repurpose tool, scheduled it all in advance, and followed Enji’s booking season campaign templates. She reviews her KPIs every month, which is how she spotted that Pinterest hasn’t brought her a single lead since she started tracking. The results: steadier Instagram growth than ever before, a measurable increase in her average client spend, and a successfully launched branding photo membership.

Busy season is when a lot of wedding pros go quiet online. The calendar fills up, the editing backlog grows, and marketing slides right to the bottom of the to-do list…right up until the inquiries slow down. (Cue the panic posting.)

Amanda of Amanda Matilda Photography does it differently.

Amanda photographs elopements, weddings and couples across the western side of Colorado and over into Moab, and she recently added branding and business photography to the mix. When we sat down with her in October 2026, in a year when a lot of small business owners have told us inquiries feel slower than they'd like, Amanda's update was short and sweet: she's busy.

"Even while I've been traveling all over the state here to see all the fall colors, I've had folks telling me still just how great my marketing is."

That's the dream, right? Out living your life while your marketing keeps showing up for you. So let's talk about how she pulled it off.

Enji is marketing software for wedding pros with an AI assistant built in that helps you plan, write, schedule, and track your marketing so it gets done. Start your free 14-day trial.

In this post, we're sharing:

  • What Amanda's marketing for her photography business looked like before Enji
  • How she plans a full year of marketing during her slow season
  • The Enji features she leans on most as a wedding photographer
  • How Enji helps her stay consistent with marketing her photography business

What Amanda's Marketing Looked Like Before Enji

Before Enji, Amanda's "marketing plan" was mostly social media posts, scheduled whenever she remembered, across a handful of different scheduling apps.

"Before Enji, I would have considered my marketing to be posting on social media, without thinking about the bigger picture."

She had a separate app for each platform, and she'd schedule a few things here and there without much of a plan behind them. When it came to results, she'd pop into her Instagram insights every so often, squint at the numbers, and…not really know what to do with them.

If that sounds familiar, you're in very good company. We see this ALL. THE. TIME. (Read: it's not a you problem, it's a no-system problem.)

And for Amanda, juggling all those tools wasn't just inefficient. As she put it, her neurodivergent brain had several different things to keep track of just to plan different types of social media. That's a whole lot of mental overhead before you've written a single caption.

What Changed When She Started Using Enji to Market Her Wedding Photography Business

Amanda has been using Enji for about a year and a half now. She's a regular on our group coaching calls, and her name has popped up on the leaderboard of most active users more than a few times (we see you, Amanda).

The biggest shift for her wasn't posting more though. It was finally seeing her marketing as one connected system instead of a pile of random posts.

"I really began to consider marketing as a bigger-picture 'whole' where I could plan my blog posts, repurpose them into social media apps, and actually keep track of my results… Something about having everything in one place like this and the ease of keeping track of things has worked with my neurodivergent brain to not only make marketing accessible but actually kind of fun."

Marketing that's kind of fun? We'll take it. Here are the Enji features that made it happen.

The Marketing Calendar: Planning the Whole Year in the Slow Season

Amanda's business is seasonal, and so are her bookings. So instead of trying to dream up content in the thick of wedding season (when, let's be real, nobody has the brain space), she did the thinking up front.

"I've been showing up on Instagram intentionally this year by sitting down in my slow season last winter and using my past blogs to repurpose their content throughout the year. I thought about what marketing campaigns I needed to focus on throughout the year, where my target audience is in their buying process at different seasons, and laid out my plan for the year. That's something I never would have thought possible before this!"

Because Enji doesn't cap how many posts you can schedule or how far in advance you can schedule them, Amanda loaded up her marketing calendar way ahead of time. Then, when busy season hit, her marketing kept running while she focused on her clients.

That's how you earn the ultimate compliment ("I see you everywhere!") without being glued to your phone between ceremonies.

The Content Repurposing Tool: Turning Blog Posts Into Months of Social Content

Amanda went to school for English and writing, so blogging is her happy place. Over the years, she's built up a whole library of articles. Enji's repurpose tool is what turns that library into a steady stream of social content.

"The repurpose tool is truly bonkers. Before, I had to sit with one of my old pieces for a while and consider how I wanted to break it down into posts, what to say about those parts, when it would be useful to share them, and enough other steps that it just felt insurmountable if I also had a large editing backlog. Now I can just take the link to a piece I've already worked hard on, and Enji does the repurposing for me. I can tweak what it gives me and schedule it in one click. No other steps. It's such a relief."

"Truly bonkers" might be our new favorite review.

This is also why repurposing is one of the easiest ways to get more strategic with your marketing. Your long-form content already says something meaningful, so every post you pull from it says something too. That's a big step up from yet another "golden hour glow ✨" caption.

Amanda takes it one step further: she picks which article to share based on the time of year and where her couples are in their buying process, so every post shows up right when it's most useful.

Marketing Campaign Templates: A Booking Season Game Plan

The feature Amanda leans on hardest? Enji's booking season campaign templates, since so much of her booking happens at predictable times of year.

"I don't have a big marketing background at all. I went to school for English, so having those campaigns laid out for me helps me see what moves the needle, what needs to happen, and then also the groundwork that you need to be doing behind the scenes to build that part of the season."

Prepping for booking season is a lot of prep work. With a marketing campaign template designed for wedding pros booking season, that task list is already built for you: step one, step two, step three. You don't have to figure out what needs to happen. You just block the time and start checking things off.

For someone who loves marketing but doesn't have hours to plan it from scratch, that lower barrier to entry makes a real difference.

Amanda's also used Enji marketing campaigns for more than booking season. When she launched her new branding photo membership, an Enji campaign helped her map out the launch in easy, bite-sized steps.

The KPI Dashboard: Figuring Out What Isn't Pulling Its Weight

Amanda is firmly on the KPI Day train. (That's what we lovingly call the first of each month, when so many of our users log in to review their numbers.) She checks her KPI dashboard monthly to see what's moving the needle, and lately she's been using it to spot things she can stop doing.

For her, that's Pinterest.

With her blogging background, Amanda has always focused on SEO, and Pinterest often gets treated like another search engine. In theory, it should be a great fit. But the numbers tell a different story.

"Since I started tracking in Enji, I haven't gotten any leads from it."

She hasn't hit pause yet, but she's weighing it. Even though the repurpose tool makes pins easy, creating graphics and uploading photos is still the time-consuming part. If Pinterest isn't bringing in leads, that time could go somewhere that is.

That's the beauty of tracking: you get to make a decision, watch what happens, and adjust. No more marketing on vibes alone. (Shannon of Sunday Muse Design had a similar moment with Instagram. When she shifted her focus elsewhere, her inquiries went up, not down.)

The Results Amanda Has Seen

Here's what's changed for Amanda since she started using Enji (and we know she tracks her KPIs, so she has the numbers to prove it!):

  • Steadier Instagram growth. Her followers have grown more consistently with Enji than ever before.
  • Higher average client spend. She's increased what clients spend with her and, for the first time, she can actually measure it.
  • A brand-new revenue stream. She successfully launched a branding photo membership, using an Enji campaign to plan the launch.
  • A busy calendar in a slow year. While many small business owners are feeling the slowdown, Amanda is booked, and her marketing keeps humming along in the background.

"My Instagram followers have steadily risen more with Enji than ever before. I've also been able to really increase my average spend on my clients and measure that increase for once!"

Who Amanda Sees Struggling the Way She Used To

When we asked Amanda who she sees in her old shoes, she didn't hesitate: "Oh man, just so many people haha!"

"Working with the wedding industry AND with small local businesses, I feel like most of my peers would thrive with Enji – especially those who don't have a marketing team and are just throwing spaghetti at the wall, so to speak. As a self-taught 'marketer' myself, having marketing campaigns already laid out in such easy, customizable steps has helped me understand marketing more and apply that to my business too."

If you're a wedding pro or creative business owner with a seasonal business, you probably don't hate marketing. You just can't find the time for it when you're knee-deep in timelines and galleries.
